"Every dog has a quiet seriousness. The Gentleman gives them the gravitas they always carried."
I spent weeks studying old master portraits at the Rijksmuseum. The light, the posture, the way a great portrait makes you feel watched. The Gentleman is my homage to that tradition. Dressed in 17th-century dignity, but unmistakably about your dog.

I trust the first line, then leave room for what it means. Strong gesture, quiet feeling.

"A pencil tells the truth before you can edit it. That's what I keep."
Studio Pencil is the closest thing to my morning routine. Thirty minutes with one pencil, no eraser, just observation. I wanted to share that quiet moment with people who feel the same about their dogs. No flourishes, just attention.

"There's softness in the old masters that gets overlooked. The Duchess is my way of bringing it back."
Painted across from The Gentleman in my studio, The Duchess took longer to settle. I wanted to avoid clichés and find the quiet authority of the great female portraits I'd studied. The result is restrained, regal, and exactly herself.

I love a drawing in its first moments. Before it's polished, before it's certain. That's where I find your dog.

"A sketch is honest before it's polished. I wanted to keep your dog at that early, true moment."
Atelier Sketch is what my studio walls actually look like. Half-finished drawings, single-colour studies, the mood of work in progress. I always loved that early stage when a drawing is most alive. This style holds that feeling on purpose.

It began with a quiet moment. A dog resting in the grass, held by soft morning light under a clear blue sky. Nothing dramatic, just a sense of calm that stayed. Not the scene itself, but the feeling it leaves behind. Something clear, still, and lasting.

"Some dogs deserve to be remembered above the everyday. Dream is for the ones we cannot keep."
This style began the year I lost my own dog. I wanted a portrait that didn't try to bring her back, but that placed her somewhere I could visit. Soft skies, soft light, a quiet world above the noise. Dream is for the dogs we love beyond their time with us.

"Watercolour rewards patience. I let the colour do what it wants, then meet your dog in the middle."
Studio Watercolour came from days I needed to slow down. Watercolour can't be rushed and won't be fixed. I learned to listen to it and let your dog emerge from washes of colour. Loose, but never careless.

"Some dogs were born for fashion week. La Parisienne is for them."
La Parisienne started as a joke between me and a friend who said her terrier walked like Audrey Hepburn. The style grew from that one sentence. Pearls, headscarves, the small props that turn a portrait into a story. Playful, but never costume-y.

"Indigo carries a weight you can't fake. I wanted your dog to have that same heritage feel."
I grew up seeing modrotisk, the traditional Czech indigo print, on tablecloths and family shirts. There's a quiet bravery in those bold blue silhouettes. Indigo is my translation of that craft. Your dog pressed onto something heritage, something made to last.

"I wanted a style with no doubt about itself. Loud colour, clear lines, your dog with full volume."
Pop started with one colour block in my studio. I'd been studying Warhol and Lichtenstein and thinking how dogs deserve the same icon treatment. The rule became simple. Nothing soft, nothing apologetic. Your dog, fully there.
